Is it possible to go about adding power steering to my mazda b2200. this is the second one i have owned. i used to have a 1991 b2200, but sold it, and just bought my second one. This one is a 1990 fuel injected but without power steering.

Could i buy the whole power steering system and put it in? im new to mechanics and this is kinda a project truck to learn and work on since the engine is very easy to work with. its a 4 cylinder.

Yes you can. Just pull the power steering system off a power steering equiped truck and install on your truck. I have done this. This is a bolt on operation and very easy to do.

will i need to take out the steering gear box as well? as i said im new to this and only have a haynes manual to help me along.

 

YES. There are power steering lines that go to the steering box. Remember the power steering bracket, too. Take all the bolts and connectors too.
