Default 2008 BT50 low boost pressure issues

Hi everyone.

I've had my bt50 for about 2 years now. No issues what so ever!

This morning it suddenly decided to drive like it had no turbo, and has been getting slower throughout the days test drives.

I have a diag scanner which has pulled two codes. P2263 and p0402. Low boost and excessive egr. Ive blanked the egr off for test purposes but after a lot of head scratching and tinkering I'm now turning to the net in hope someone else can educate me and point me in a much more productive direction.

Air filter isn't blocked, egr removed and inspected, was shut and operated freely via a little tub. No fueling issues, gad a primer bubble on the inlet and outlet of filter. Filter in the pump banjo is also clear.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome! I have never worked on this particular truck, but after doing some Googling, here is a few links that may give you some more direction on what to look for.

Not sure what years this PDF applies to, but there is some good info in it.......seems to be a Mazda BT-50 training manual.....

A similar post on a different forum.....

Here is a forum post that is dealing with your same vehicle I think......read all the way through, especially at the end from username, BT50cyprus.......

Good luck, and let us know what you find!

How did you go with you issue mate?.
We are having a similar problem and can't work out how to find what is causing the fault P2263. We lose boast at 85kph and it throws that code.

Cheers

Hi Craig.

I can't say for yours, but mine was caused by the cat in the exhaust breaking up and blocking itself.

To test it I unbolted the exhaust in front of the cat, secured it downwards if I recall (was a while ago) and took it on a 3 min test drive. It was cured. So I then smashed the cat honeycomb out, it worked a treat and I've left it ever since.
