Default What shocks to get for my car?

Hi,

My 1998 626 rides very smoothly but also bobbles like a balloon on water. I'm wondering if I should get something aftermarket or OEM, if they cost the same, I'll buy aftermarket shocks (for a firmer ride). I'm not sure if I have shocks or struts, I was told that struts would cost more for parts and labor. I'd appreciate any info on where to get aftermarket parts for my car, the dealers usuallycharge outrageous prices, so that's my last resort. Thanks for any info!
