Default Water pump replacement

The water pump on my '88 Mazda 323 has started to weep water, so I bought a new pump and started working on it today. Got the upper timing cover off, but it looks like I'll have to remove the crankshaft pulley to remove the lower timing cover.

Which brings me to my question... how on Earth are you supposed to get the crankshaft pulley off??? Maybe I'm redundant but I've tried a 12" cheater bar on my 1/2" drive ratchet and I can't get the bolt to budge. Is it left hand thread perhaps??

Thanks,
Tony

Alrighty then... please disreguard my previous post. I didn't realize that the only thing holding the crankshaft pulley on was two phillips machine screws!!
