sputtering after driving for a few miles
It started to happen not too long after I put in some USA gas. Since then there has been an oil change and some good mobile gas was put in on a nearly empty tank. It had a real basic tuneup done to it there is lucas injector cleaner in the tank as well but it is still doing it when it warms up enough. It idles about 1000 rpm with accelerating it normally goes to 3 to 4000 rpm but when it sputters it hits 7000. What could be the cause of it? This is a 95 Mazda 626 4 cylinder by the way.

Don't know how to get the codes. They cleaned the cap and checked the rotor they appeared ok and were cleaned a bit. I plan on replacing the plugs the air filter was clean. Last time I can remember they replaced the plugs with iridium ones a long while ago. Looking for some kind of manual on the internet to look at for the car to find things like the fuel filter.

Robert: log on to a parts store website and look for the parts.
Why Iridium plugs? Stick with OEM plugs or something of the same class. The engine was developed for optimum performance with these plugs. More expensive does not equal better.
What they did was not a tune up.
So your CEL light is on? Go to a parts store and ask them to scan it, they will do it for free. Jot down the codes.

Ditto, most engines run worse with the fancy plugs than with stock plugs. And if people say otherwise then maybe their engines are one of the very very very few that gain performance, otherwise their butt dyno needs to be re-calibrated :P

I guess my Denso iridium plugs suck then. But then again, I am also running ACCEL 2V Ignition Coils that deliver almost twice the voltage as stock! No misfires here! The stock coils on the Mazda 6 are just good enough for the vehicle. (i know this isn't a Mazda 6 thread). I also had to put on another ground wire to engine block.
I thought this was relevant, somewhat!?
