Default Running cable through firewall help

Hi,

I have a '92 Mazda 323 (Familia) Interplay and I'm trying to install my amp, but I want to get all the cables done first.

I can't find any obviously good places to run the power cable through the firewall, I found this rubber tube poking out so I put a knitting needle in it to see if it was closed off (if it was it isn't now).
Then I checked under the dash to see if I could see it coming through, I couldn't see the needle but I did see a rubber tube and i'm pretty sure it's the same one.
It was on the left hand side of the car (in my country we drive on the left).
But the tube was attached to something, not sure what it is though...

Any ideas?

That tube should be going from the gear box to the speedometer. It is the speed sensor. The only thing about running through there is that there is a hard plastic piece inside that will stop you from pushing through. Just push until you make it through. You won't really hurt anything there.

Hmm this tube has been cut though, it connects to nothing on the engine-side of the firewall but on the sitting-side of the firewall it connects to a small black rounded box type thing, I can get a few pictures in a bit.

P.S What I meant by we drive on the left is that we sit in the right hand side of the car and drive on the left.

So my car might be horizontally reversed to yours.

Thanks for the reply btw.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like the VSS. Not 100% sure what that would be since it is cut. You could always go the painless way. Get a bulkhead from painless wiring and you can just tap straight through the firewall to run wiring.

I managed to get it through, that pipe has a gromet around it so i slide the cable between the rubber pipe and the gromet.
