Hi,

I have a Mazda 626 2001 2l diesel.

Recently my battery was flat due to not driving with the covid lock down. I fully recharged the battery and I have tested battery and its working fine.

Problem with the car is, when it starts, it stalls after a few seconds. This happens several times. Sometimes I get the little red key sign flashing on the dash. I've changed the battery in the key fob and its still flashing at times.

I now leave the fob in the house and just use the spare key.

After a few times of starting, and stalling, the car willl start and run fine.

Sometimes after a long drive, if I stop the car.....then restart it, it starts fine. However, when I leave the car switched off for a period of time and return and try restart it, its back to the starting and stalling after a few seconds.

There is also and clicking / ticking noise coming at start up from the passenger side foot well.

Anyone have any advice etc would be appreciated.

I have switched ignition on, disconnected the battery for over a minute, then reconnected the battery with the ignition key still on.......(as I read this might work)....but it doesn't.
