Question Mazda 323 Front Suspension Help

Hi all, first time poster here hoping to get some useful answers that google isn't helping me with much!

I have a 2002 Mazda 323 Astina, SP20 and I want to replace the front struts on it. The kit I got for it came with a strut with the sway link bolt position lower down than the one that is already on it, but it also came with a new sway link in the box, is this supposed to be a shorter sway link to account for this different bolt position? Or is the strut entirely wrong? Any help will be nice, thank you!

Is the kit you bought specifically for the SP20 or just a standard Protege?
