Default Cooling system problem on '95 626

Hey all. I'm brand new here but have a problem I can't figure out.

I've been losing water for a week or so now and then overheating.

After some searching, I pinpointed the problem. It was a leak from the metal mount that connects my upper hose to my engine block (underneath the air filter). I took it apart and it looked fine. Put it back on and it still leaked. So I tried to tighten down the bolts holding it in and the corner snapped off.

My problem is I don't know what this part is even called. Went to the Checker and they said it was a water outlet, but when I look online the water outlet looks like it's where the thermostat is housed on the bottom hose. It looks nothing like the part that has me stumped.

I've been able to find the "water outlet gasket" online that is indeed the gasket that goes between this hose mount doo-dad and the engine. Here's a picture of the gasket:

Here is a picture of the doo-dad in question:

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I don't recall what their technical name is for that union but i would hit a junkyard or send an online junkyard the pic. I would say dealer only and expensive from them. The only problem with getting it at a junkyard is most like to sell their engines complete so don't like to sell parts like that. Hey you could take the pic to a dealer and they can find it that way.

Went to the junkyard. Found the part on a '95 Ford Probe. Was actually in really good shape and got it all put on. Went pretty smooth.

Unfortunately, I've still got a pretty substantial leak from that vicinity (just off the engine block to the drivers side), so obviously something else is going on. So now I'm praying its one of my freeze plugs. If that's not it, I'm afraid I may have cracked my engine block.

I believe the part that the piece you replaced has a tube connected to the back of it that runs under the intake to the waterpump. You will have to remove the intake to get to it. Not a huge job really.
