Changing Timing Belt and idler rollers.
Alright my name is Natalie, I recently bought a 95 Mazda 929 and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to change and replace the timing belt and idler rollers. Hope to hear from someone.

RE: Changing Timing Belt and idler rollers.
I had to get mine replaced. It's best to let a qualified mechanic to it. Don't try it yourself. They use a special tool to lock the cams in place. It's easy to knock the timing off if you move the cams. Also have them look at the water pump and belts and replace them if worn. If you have high mileage on the vehicle it's best to go ahead and change them.
TimingBelt $59.10
Water Pump $92.97
2 Belts $27.98
Total cost was $372.31 with labor and tax. Good Luck

did my 93. The plastic cover has to come off and to get to that the shroud, fan, pulleys, balancer and the ignition pieces, might be a good time to change water pump also. Not an easy job but me and a friend did it in about 3 hours. I didn't do the rollers because of the cost.
