Default Need part number for Idler Pulley Bracket

Just bought a 95 Millenia. It would not start (I got a great deal, I think) and the check engine light was on. I hooked it up to my computer and came up with a bad Crank Shaft POSIT sensor. When I went to replace the sensor I noticed that it had no drive belts in place (I wonder why it stopped running?) and that the tension bolt on the lower Idler Pully way just swinging in the breeze [>:]. The darn bracket is broken and I can't find a part number or even a part company that shows an order number. Anybody have any ideas? I'm all for ordering from the dealer but you know they always mark up the price quite a bit.

Do you have the 2.5 engine or the 2.3 supercharged engine. If it is the 2.5 engine is it the tensioner that would work with the power steering and water pump belts?
Diagrams below are for the 2.5 engine.

These are the tensioner for the 2.5 alternator and a/c belt

It is the 2.5ltr engine. It would be the tension assembly in the last picture. I contacted the dealer and they would be happy to sell me one for $210 [:@]. I'll be connecting the new crankshaft sensor this week and trying to fire up this puppy and see it it will be worth purchasing the new assembly.

Anybody ever scrap this manual tensioner and replace it with an auto-tensioner? Those seem to go for a dime a dozen. Just need to find one that would fit the same bolt pattern or easily be modified to work.

Good luck finding an auto tensioner that would fit, much less something you could make fit.Can your old piece be welded?..You could try calling around at junkyards (although they tend to only want to sell complete engines). You might try calling a Ford dealer and asking for it by Ford Probe 2.5 application ( junkyard too). Also try calling another Mazda dealer;;Example:I needed an upper link. One Dealer told me 134 dollars, one told me 80 something, and I bought it at a third dealer for 60.10$

Yea, I doubt you would be able to find an auto-tensioner. A used part would probably be your cheapest source. The bracket assembly is the same for 1999-2002 milly with the 2.5 engine is that helps to broaden your search cars. Complete new assembly is $162.40 at www.onlinemazdaparts.com. using OE part number K806-15-930D. You can also get each individual component of the tensioner if only one small part is broken. The bracket portion that bolts to the engine is around $94 retail from dealer, bearing is around $75, etc.

That is excellent info Am4wag. Is that for the center bearing part only or the whole bearing/pulley?

Only the bearing, which is no harder to change than a U-joint/can be done in a vise.

thanks for the information. I'm going to have to pull the assembly and see exactly which part is broken. Then I'll have to find the part number for that. I did some checking around and looks like every junk yard in my area has been picked over for this one. The Ford dealer want $300.00 for it since it's a Ford part. Mazda dealer wants $210. Now if I could get the darn thing to turn over (I'll post that in a differnt thread though). Thanks again.
