The other day my mazda started running really bad. Rev'd up to 5000 rpm's before it shifted into 3rd gear and then seemed to have no power at all. Stepped on the gas and it barely moved. Then the o/d off light started blinking. Luckily home was right around the corner. Got the computer tester on it and it read a code of PO455 which doesn't make sense. That has to do with the emissions. Does anyone know if these two (blinking light and code) are related? Anyone know what my problem could be?

 

I am not sure about the P0455 but my 97 626 is having some real transmission issues and I have a P0441. I took it to the guys that rebuilt the transmission about 9 months ago and they said this code (evap related) could cause the problem. I have an appointment for Tuesday to have a shop take a look. I changed the gas cap and looked for vacuum leaks but don't know what else to check. Good luck with yours. I will post when/if they fix mine.

 

I've had the same problem.
What happened was the transmission cooler was the incorrect size for my transmission and so it overheated and messed up the electronics in the transmission. My suggestion is to take it to a transmission place or atleast call around with the code you got. Also, I had to replace some part in my transmission a little while back because it overheated also, but, was only about $100 for the part. Either way, take it to a transmission guy.
