Hello all,
Working on a friends '94 4Cyl ATX 626 DX and after checking the codes and driving it around, I found a slew of problems. When I first got my hands on the car, it wouldn't shift and the Hold (O/D) Light was flashing. After manually shifting it a few rounds it stopped. What could be the cause of this?

The engine hesitates to rev just sitting. I'll hit the trottle under the hood to try to get it to rev and it'll just sit at one RPM and sometimes backfire in the intake when I come off of the throttle. If I hit it lightly enough it'll go up to 5k RPM's. Replaced the wires with some NGK's and it got mildly better, Distributor, MAF?

Also, the Brake on off switch, where is it, and will it effect shifting?

I left my manual in his car which is about 300 miles away from me right now, so I'm trying to have a plan when I go to tackle it this weekend.

I know about the search function, but I'm not sure I'm using the right terms because I'm not finding anything answering these questions.

This is the list of three digit codes I got from the car with the engine on and off in diagnosis mode. 653 isin't listed in the manual. Could someone tell me what all of them are? I really wish I'd taken that manual with me...
