Default '88 stalling at low RPM

My 1988 626 with 2.2/auto tran stalls when it idles down to about 1100-1200 range. It is a intermittent problem but does not seem to be related to temperature. It has never stalled at any other RPM. It always restarts immediately. I unplugged the IAC and it had no effect on the stalling. Have installed new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Have checked for vacuum leaks and did not find any. Rubber intake boot is not cracked.

I have noticed if I am driving it at about 20 mph (near the 1100-1200 RPM range) the engine will quit, I'll see the tach drop to zero, stay there for a second, and then come back up and it will continue running.

No codes are set. Could it be ignition related??
