Default 626 stereo with no sound

HI! My son has a 626 and the factory stereo has worked fine up until last week. There was still power but no sound. He put a new harness and a stereo that he had from before into the car following his Chilton manual. There is still power and still no sound. Does anyone have any ideas? Please help, I just bought a 2006 Mazda 3S and he wants to drive mine all of the time because is has tunes. I want to drive my SWEET new car. HELP!

Check to make sure the rear speaker connectors have not been broken off and wires either shorting together or shorting out to the speaker chassis. One speaker shorted out will cause all sound to be lost. You might even try disconnecting the rear speakers one at a time as well to see if they have shorted internally. When faulty circuit is out of system the sound should come back on.

That was it. Thanks! When he put his Christmas tree in the trunk the wires got moved and shorted the speaker. Thanks for the help.
