I've just been advised by the Air Conditioner mechanic that I need another AC compressor on my GD Mazda 626 2.2ltr 1991 auto sedan.

He said he regassed it but it won't pump at all - so its not worth pulling apart fixing. He recomends I find another good used second hand one

I don't want to get another 1991 compressor if I can help it, because at that age, a second hand one, might not be much better.

So does anyone know what the latest model Air conditioner is that will fit into my 1991 Mazda 626 2.2 ltr - if I get one second hand ??

Have you find new compressor? I have same problem!

 

Will the compressor even turn on? If you put 12V directly to the compressor does it run? Not to question your mechanic but it could be as simple as a bad pressure switch keeping the compressor from turning on, or a bad switch inside the car.

 

clutch is working ok. that was the first thing to check
