Default 1994 Mazda 323F Electrical problem

Hi.

I have a 1.8 1994 Mazda 323F that just died while driving.
I have checked to find no spark at the plugs and also the fuel pump doesnt engage on turning on the ignition. (Timing belt/Chain fine)
I have tried a full dizzy assy of a 1.6 97 MX3 on the 323F to find no change, the exact same.
I then installed the original dizzy from the 323F (thought to be bad) onto the MX3 to find the MX3 ran fine, i suppose this tells me the dizzy from the 323F is fine.
The aftermarket alarm on the car has previously been bypassed.
On checking voltages at the dizzys on both cars they are different.
The MX3 has a 12V and two 5V supplys to the dizzy with the ignition on.
The 323F has a 12V but no 5V supply.
Thanks and hope you can help.
Jon

The PCM supplys that. Check for blown fuses and power to the PCM. With the key on you should have 12 volts at the injector connectors. That circuit also powers the PCM. A shorted component can cause a no spark condition also.

Thanks for the reply Hixx,

I have checked the fuses under the bonnet and beside the drivers foot well to be all fine. Is their a fuse i am missing?
I have checked the EFI relay in the engine compartment and also the fuel pump relay thats in behind the center consul to be fine.
I tested the fuel pump with a 12V supply to find the pump is fine.

Have you any info on how to check with the PCM or any other possible cause of my problem.

Problem still remains: No fuel pump running and no spark at the plugs.

Thanks and any help will be appreciated.

The fuel pump will not run unless the ECU sees an ignition signal from the distributor. You need to trace the circuits with a wiring diagram and volt/ohmmeter/testlight. There are wiring diagrams available on Autozones website. Diagnosing the problem you have on the internet is next to impossible. We can only point you in the right direction i'm afraid. I don't think you have a fuel problem. I think the ignition system is where the problem is. Check the circuit opening relay closely and i would open up the ECU to check the circuit board for burnt spots. Check the harness from the distributor to the ECU.
