Default 1994 626 LX Cranks but not Start

I have a 1994 626 with a 2.5L V6

I have not seen any posts that quite match the issues I am having. I am going to try to be as detailed as I can because i do not know what is important and what is not.

I had the transmission and the right half shaft replaced. I also replaced the battery right before we had it towed to the tranny shop. After the transmission was done, I took it to get E-checked. It passed on HC and Co was 0. It failed on the Nox by 3400ppm. So I took it to get the codes read. It showed O2 sensor and the water thermosensor had issues.

Before I could get to these issues, the starting problem began. Imoved the car a few feet back in the driveway, shut it off and got out. I got back in to moveit a few feet father. At that time, I turned the key and it seemed like it started so I released the key back to the on position. The car did not start so I tried to start it again. IT just cranked and cranked but did not start.

This is what I have done so far to try and fix this problem myself:

Checked all the fluids

Checked all the fuses

checked for spark going to plugs (did not have any but Did have gas on plugs)

Checked for continuity on the wires and it was good.

Was told if rotor moved when trying to start the car it would not be the timing belt. The rotor moved.

Tested for voltage at the coil and that was fine.

Tested the primary coil winding. It was suppose to be between 0.4 and 0.85 ohms and it was 1.7 ohms. Not sure if that was off enough to be cause the no start or not. This also bounced around some.

Secondary coil winding was suppose to be between 11 and 18 ohms and it was around a 16.

I did replace the rotor and distributor cap "just in case" and that did not change anything.

Now, I am just lost and frustrated. Anyone that can help in anyway I would appreciate it.

I'm having the same issue with a 4 banger 626 from 94. Can you please tell me what was the problem in your case?

Sounds like the distributor. It is the most common cause of a no spark condition and usually damages the converters before it goes out completely.
