Default Squealing on brand new Mazda2

Hi everbody,

Newbie here, glad to be member!

I just bought a brand new 2013 Mazda2 (Sport, manual) on 12/20 and the day after I had it I noticed when the a/c is on there is intermittent squealing for 3-5 seconds at a time. Its only when the a/c is on, if just the fan is on, all is quiet. The squealing comes and goes and its not real loud. I can only really hear it if I turn the radio off. It seems to happen more when accelerating. Obviously everything is still under warranty so I'm going to the dealer this week to get it checked out but I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks for any responses!!

Congrats! and welcome to the forum.

It's most likely the drivebelt. It may need a little tightening.

past season I went to an Autocross and there was a Mazda 2 competing. It won it's class. It looked a bit strange because the car is so high but I was impressed, to say the least.
