2002 mazda tribute engine hesitation/stumble
hey guys, need a little help here. i have a 2002 mazda tribute with approx 150,000 miles on it. I noticed while driving down highway the engine starts to hesitate and stumble and the check engine light will start blinking but then goes off, then comes back on. Once I let off the gas or give it more gas the engine will stop hesitating or stumbling and be fine. My dad is very handy with cars but were stumped here. We just checked all the plugs and checked all the coils so they're good. Tomorrow we're going to clean the idle air control valve and see if this helps.
-------------
I was reading that it could be "The DPFE (differential pressure feedback EGR) sensor tends to fail. The DPFE sensor monitors function of the EGR valve by measuring pressure changes in the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. Symptoms of a failing DPFE sensor are hesitation or stumbling when driving along with illumination of the Check Engine Light."
-------------
HAS ANYONE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES OR KNOW WHERE TO START? I have to drive 40 miles each way to work and would hate to spend $ on a newer vehicle when its going to get worked.

Most new people do that and if anything it is frowned upon. We check "latest posts" daily and they both appear there just like all models and sections. We do not search each individual sections of models of cars.
So if you click on "new Posts" or "Todays posts" you'll know what i mean.
