Hey all,

I just bought an '07 Mazda 6 which came with one valet key with a chip/transponder but no remote. I ordered the remote and what they gave me ($110 later) was the switch blade style remote and key. I had the key cut at Home Depot, then looked up how to program it to the car (open/shut, open/shut, on/off etc) and now the remote works, so I can lock and unlock the doors, but the engine won't turn on. I can get on and ac, so I know the key works, but can't make it go.

The dealerships want $50 to "program" it, but didn't I already do this? Do I need a transponder for my new key, or should I get a new key piece and have it laser cut? I really don't want to be taken for a ride, any insight is much appreciated.
