Default Mazda6 2005 central locking issue

Hi everyone! I was wondering if someone has the expertise to help me with a problem with my 2005 mazda6 luxury sports central locking mechanism.

the other day the remote stopped working, I changed the battery and that did not resolve the issue.

then I noticed a 8 step key fob paring method that many people have had success with so i attempted to give it a go

What i noticed was with step 2, when I opened the drivers side door and pressed the switch to lock it, I heard the central locking mechanism keep making the locking/unlocking sound over and over, like its trying to do something but can't. For a test I left just the front passenger door open and pressed the drivers door switch and got the same result

I can however, lock/unlock the car manually via the door switch without this unlocking/locking sound happening but only with the doors closed.

I can also unlock/lock the door with the key and start the car ok.

If there is a fix or an explanation as to the problem I would be extremely greatful, I could use this information to have a better chance of getting it fixed and using the remote again.

I hope someone can understand what I'm trying to explain and could perhaps help me out or give me some advice I could make a video and post a link here if that helps.

If anyone has any suggestions or wants further information I will be more than happy to provide it

Thank you

Mat
