Sergey211,
You don't need numbers 8 and 9. According to my owner's manual, from a Mazda6 2004 but probably still applies, when you get to that stage you press 1 for the first digit, then press 1 four times.....then press 2 to indicate second digit, then press that 2 nine times, then press 3 for the third digit, then press 3 eight times, then press 4 once.....and then press 4 again nine times....if you get my drift ...let me know on here if it works !!
I want to disconnect my battery as I'm told that might get rid of the check engine light that's on all the time but I didn't want to do that as I don't have the radio code , so found this thread......I don't even know if a code has been entered on this car.....and I don't know how to find out.......wishing I hadn't bought a car with this issue but yes, you guessed it, I didn't know about this issue before buying it.

I just bought a Mazda Premacy with the same problem.
The radio does not have a Auto M button though and do I need to disconnect the battery as it doesn't make a difference which buttons I am pushing it always shows the Errr message.

I went to the local Mazda dealer to have it unlocked and he charged me £10.
I looked over his shoulder while he did it and if I remember correctly it was the following:
Press the following buttons
Audio
AM
ASTL
5FF
Then you will get the 4 digits to put in which are the same as with the other radios 4989
I hope it helps somebody

Mazda 5, 2008
Greetings from Sweden
I had Err on the display after 3 unsuccessful attempts to enter the code.
I tested Blue_SP20 solution, but it did not help, however I tested hold the volume button (the left button) and FM½ button simultaneously and the radio started and the error code disappeared.
Hope this can help others.

Thank you guys anyway.

Hi all
I have a Mazda 5 07 reg in the UK. What worked for me was holding down the large power button, then holding down FM1/2 for ten seconds. Everything sprang back into life!
Many thanks to all the previous posters, you've been really helpful!
