Default Infotainment in constant recycle? Seattle Times wants to talk to you!

Hi,
This is Erik Lacitis at The Seattle Times. In the past week or so Mazda owners in the Seattle metro area have found their infotainment centers in a constant recycle. This has happened only to Mazda owners who tuned into a particular FM station here. Now their radio is locked into that station and the infotainment centers just recycles. One owner has put cardboard over the screen because it's so distracting when he drives. I have reached out to the radio station, to HD Radio (which licenses the format) and Mazda North American Operations as well as dealer service managers. The Mazda owners tell me they're being told their cars need a new cmu and the cost quoted is $800 to $1,500, but the part isn't available.
Have Mazda owners in other cities experienced this recycling issue?
