Idels fast then wont start(timming?)
Hey guys, i have a 95' 676. I just bought it and its hosed up, when i start it it idles at at least 2000rpm and never gets lower, then if i shut it off its really hard to start, i have to almost flood it to start it.. i know nothing about mazdas, so treat me like an idiot, im going with timming or vac leak,
A vacuum leak is quite possible, it can cause a high idle. Use some common carb cleaner and spray all around the intake, if there is a vac leak, the engine will rev faster when you find it. Timing can cause high idle if it is very advanced, but you would complain of a slow cranking speed. You would think the battery was almost dead while cranking. Another possibility is the idle speed control motor on the throttle body that could be inop or stuck from never being cleaned. Is there a check engine light coming on? What engine do you have and how many miles? And I presume a 626 not a 676.
well heres the deal its not my car its a person i know who told me that their mechanic was trying to screw them over so i told her what i though tit was which was what yall said and told he to get it back from him and id look at it
