HELP! Coolant sensor on Mazda3 2006

HELP! Coolant sensor on Mazda3 2006

Usually everyone has trouble finding the sensor. I've located it but cannot remove the connector to unscrew the sensor. Any tips or tricks? Do you squeeze it? Push it? Pull it? Or what?

Thanks. Thumb was sore after trying a bunch of times. Finally used a screw driver.
