Default Heating problems

Hi all,
My wife’s 2018 Mazda 2 takes ages to get warm (15-20 minutes) - and it really isn’t much more than ‘warm’.

is this normal for a Mazda?

the AC is working well, the heater fan is blowing well and the engine temp appears fine.
is there anything I should look at?

thanks,
Paul

Time to carry out some diagnosis.

Using a infrared thermometer, monitor the temps of the upper & lower radiator hoses as it warms up. Also monitor both heater hoses.

When the engine is fully warmed up/hot the two heater hoses should be virtually the same temp with the heater turned off.

If two heater hoses are virtually equal, you will need to get technical and investigate the heater core flaps.
