My engine light came on last night on my 2009 CX-9. i checked the gas cap, which was very loose (gas cap light did not come on however). It only has 11,000 miles on it, and there is no change in gas mileage or power. Anyone know how to turn it off w/o having to go to the dealership AGAIN?! Thanks!!!

 

Pick up an inexpensive OBDII scan tool at Amazon or your local parts house and do it yourself. If this is an ongoing problem with the vehicle and you're still under warranty (16K miles?) have the dealer fix it and make sure you keep track of their repairs.

 

I recommend having the dealer take care of the CEL prob. There may be an underlying issue
