anyhting purchased for the vehicle after it is bought. A dealer installed package would'nt be considered aftermakret because it is normally done as the car is bought. Basically it's all the parts put on it after the market with the dealership.

Aftermarket parts on the other hand can be bought as replacement or add-on to the OEM components comprising the car. As the word implies, aftermarket parts ca be brought from the market while OEMs are ofetentimes exclusive to the manufacturer or dealer from where you buy your car. Bumpers, lights and floor mats are examples of aftermarket parts.

This is Wikipedias definition to the word aftermarket :the term aftermarket can refer to the addition of non-factory parts, accessories and upgrades to a motor vehicle.
And mine *ahem* Anything that does not come stnadard on the car and is not availiable as a additional package to the car from the dealer or the cars main manufacturer.
