B2600 fuel problems

B2600 fuel problems
My Mazda B2600 had been running poorly so today I removed the fuel line prior to the fuel filter and pumped some fuel through and found it to full of rust. I decided to remove the long range tank so proceeded to drain the fuel via the drain plug and the fuel come out clean. I could not find a filter in the line so I am at a loss. Does anyone have any ideas. I would prefer not to remove the tank as it is an after market large capacity unit that sits above the exhaust and the tail shaft. Cheers Ke
