Default Fuel Filter

Good day. I have a Mazda 2 1.5 Dynamic 2008 model. Please can someone tell me where to locate the fuel filter because I'm unable to find it. I would like to replace it. Also what does it look like(In case it is different than the part I got)? Regards Carlo

A few comments:
  • The chances of your fuel filter needing replacement already are somewhere between nil and none.
  • While we here in the States never got 2008 Mazda2 models, I strongly suspect the fuel filter is inside the gas tank and is a bit of a pain to replace.
  • The fact is, most modern fuel filters don't typically require replacement for the life of the car, and almost certainly not for at least a quarter of a million miles.

As shipo said, we didn't get an '08 model here, but the fuel filter should be near the rear axle by the fuel tank, though I'm quite sure there is a fuel "sock," as they are often known, in the tank at the fuel pick-up tube. Fuel injected cars have had these for years because of the higher pressure/suction compared to a carburetted car, and that there is usually a high-pressure electric pump involved.

Check your owners manual for service time and/or mileage, but I'd be willing to bet that its somewhere around the 50,000 mile (80,467.2 km) mark.

I'll take that bet.

I'm guessing the fuel filter replacement interval isn't listed at all.
