Personally speaking, if your using your tank of fuel up in 20 days or less, additives are a complete waste of money. If fuel tends to stay in the tank over the 20 day mark, SeaFoam is my preferred treatment. It helps to stabilize the fuel and slow down the molecular breakdown. The bike gets a little bit when I know it will be sitting. (Dec-Jan) I also use it in my fuel can for the lawn mower. My vehicles never keep the same fuel in them for longer than 14 days so I don't use a thing in their fuel.
Side note, some brands of injector cleaner/fuel additive can cause more damage than good.

I was unemployed for a time and fuel probably stayed in the tank longer than it should have during that time. When I began using the car more regularly again I noticed it was running rougher than it had before, so I dumped in some B12. It contains toluene to help dissolve deposits and detergents to wash them away. After a few days it did seem to be making a difference. It's not expensive and so I've used it several times since in both my Mazda and my wife's car. I figure it can't hurt, as long as I don't use it that/too often.
SeaFoam is crazy expensive which in an of itself keeps me looking for something else.

Yeah, that is one notable downside to E10 fuel; the ethanol has a tendency to destabilize if the vehicle is parked for a long time (like more than a month). That said, the additives in modern fuel will typically cycle the stuff left behind after a tank or two.
