Default Acceleration problems/stalling

So, I currently own a 2005 Mazda 3s 2.3L 4cyl (DOHC).

When driving down the road, as an example, I have no problems with acceleration or deceleration with and without pressure applied to the the gas pedal. When I come to a stop and the light goes from red to green, applied pressure to the pedal causes an abrupt acceleration, major drop in RPM (almost as if to stall or no pressure being applied to the pedal), basic idling and while keeping the pedal depressed, and an eventual take off from the stop after a second or two. My Air filter was clogged, so I replaced it with ano STP, granted, an STP just see if that may have been the cause.

It was said that a clogged air filter would throw off the o2 sensor, which would throw off the catalytic converter. Since this is obviously not the case, any possibilities to the problem that wouldn't relate to the o2, catalytic converter or a possible "dirty" throttle body?
