Default Acceleration issue on 05 Mazda 6

The car will run fine and then suddenly it feels like you are playing witht he accelarator pedal as if you ar pushing on it and then letting off. Once this starts, when you go to stop, the rpms rev up and the car wants to keep going, even idling it runs 40 mph. If you turn the car off and restart it the issue goes away then reoccurs randomly. Any ideas?

Check these things: gas pedal assembly, throttle cable (lube it), throttle body (clean it), throttle return springs, and cruise control. I would disconnect the cruise control for some time. Also idle speed control and throttle position sensor deserve a look-see.

Proper way to clean throttle body: Rough Idling Issues |*MotorWeek : Moving the throttle plate when cleaning and while still hooked up to battery is a no-no!
Another way is to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery before cleaning the throttle body, followed by depressing the brake pedal. Now you can clean throttle body. While you are there clean the MAF. Re-connect battery. Start car when both are dry, let idle for 10 minutes. Drive for 50 miles to re-learn ECU.

If you need a new throttle body get one from here: CordovaMotorSports.com Click on throttle bodies. They get there's from Mazda and optimize them for maximum flow.
Don't forget to buy a new throttle body gasket: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...3-1807640.html .
It's best to remove throttle body catching the liquid from cleaner with rags or paper towels. Can all be done in engine bay.
