This was posted earlier and I am having the same problem with my 88 convertible non turbo. Are there any known solutions/remedies?? I'm at a loss for tracking down the cause of this now. It only happens during the day, after the car is warmed up. The car will all-of-a-sudden refuse to go over 1500 rpm, almost like it's gone into a safety mode. Oil temp, coolant temp, and engine temp are all well within norm's during this occurrence. Help.

 

I suppose it could be a number of things, but A clogged cat can cause this to happen.
