Default Rx7 wont accelerate over 1500 RPM. Need Help!

I have done a few thing to try and fix the problem however i am at a loss. It only happens during the day, after the car is warmed up. The car will all-of-a-sudden refuse to go over 1500 rpm, almost like it's gone into a safety mode. Oil temp, coolant temp, and engine temp are all well within norm's during this occurrence. Then, if I keep driving (at 35 mph in 5th gear) occasionally it will snap out of it, only to pop back up if I tack the revs up over 4 or 5k rpm.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Default Easy Fix!!!!!!

Drive your car in second gear, turn the ignition off with the gear still engaged and then switch the car back on while driving. I've got a 2002 rx-7 and had the exact same problem and literally replaced EVERYTHING and nothing worked. But this did the job.
