Default 2011 Mazda 6 - headlight change

Passenger side low beam went out. Dealer says they have to remove the bumper to replace headlight bulbs. $175 plus cost of bulbs on both sides. Is that true? Why would Mazda build a car that you have to remove body parts to access a headlight lamp?

Thanks, tanprotege, but that is the wrong headlight style. The 2011 6 headlights are different.

Try "changing headlights" in the search box. Even if you have to take the bumper off it is a DIY job.

I decided to let the dealer mess with taking off the bumper. I don't mind DIY jobs, but I do not like removing body parts just to change a simple lamp bulb.
