Hi,
I've have a 2018 CX5 Soul Red that I got new. I know about all the problems with this color and I park far away from everyone else to avoid dings. The other day I noticed a tiny scratch about 2 inches long and about the size of a hair and it's only in the top coat.
I can see the white coat underneath and it's not deep at all. My question is since it is so small and tiny and not deep can I use some kind of product to rub it out? I'm from the old school and used to using rubbing compound for scratches but since this particular color
is so delicate I'm not sure what to do. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike

 

Soul red is not any more delicate than any other foreign or domestic vehicle with the exception of Volvo or Honda black. The problem with removing a scratch is you end up removing clear coat. What happens when you get another scratch in that same area? Remove even more clear coat. Not cool
