Soul red metallic issues?
I am about to order a 2022 CX 30 Premium.
I had originally picked Soul Red Metallic for the color but in searching the internet I came across a great deal of complaints about that color, chipping, flaking, etc. Is that still a problem?

I have a Soul Red 2016 CX-5. The only blemishes are three little scratches where road debris got kicked up. I know they're there but I have to point them out to anybody else. Otherwise, my car looks just like newer ones from the last year or two.
Dealers rarely order anything but white and silver as they are easier to touch up on the lot. The Soul Red did have a $500 premium but I think it's worth it for the safety aspect. White and silver disappear in the rain in heavy traffic. I drove a truck up north for a bit and the manager had ALL the trucks painted red. If stranded in a blizzard, we could shelter in our equipment and a portion of a red fender would show up where a white one wouldn't when covered with snow.
We have a 2021 Mazda CX-30 in the Soul Red color. We have a scratch or nick here and there, but it's no worse than any other car. It stands out in the crowd and we get compliments on it all the time. My wife wanted that medium blue, but she has warmed up to this color - big time. She loves driving it.
Go with the Soul Red and you won't be disappointed.
We have a 2018 Mazda 6 .. from new..with 30,000km and have noticed the paint has started to chip. The car is garaged mostly. We have approx 6 chips that have appeared in the last 6 months. Has anyone had success with their dealer in terms of a solution? Cheers David (Sydney)
