Default Display + CD changer question! :-)

Hello. My name is Jenny, I am 22 years old and I just purchased a 2006 Mazda 6 last month. I feel kind of dumb asking the first question, but I will anyway...

So, as you know, whenever you turn on the car the display screen says, "Hello"... as if it's happy to see you. Which is great... I like it, but I was curious if there was a way to modify it, so I can make it say something else. I thought that would be pretty cool.

My next question to you is about the 6 CD changer. Unfortunately, I can only play 1 CD! The load button doesn't do anything and I read the manual a bunch of times. Nothing seems to work. So sad :-( Anyway, if any of you could help me, that would be awesome!

Thanks for reading

Jenny,
They all have a load button, but just because they do does not mean that you have the changer. My guess is that you have a single disc player, which is the std.
Be thankful you do, as the changers have had a fair number of issues. I was gonna add a 6-disc to my 3. I am now glad that in the end I didn't.

Unless you have the 'S' trim you likely don't have it. I don't have a 'S' but in '08 they made a 'VE' trim and put a factory 6-CD changer in it. That's the only reason why I have it. Look for a little icon on the left side of the stereo. It'll say 6 DISC IN DASH. If you don't see it then you don't have it.

To answer your question about changing the text display on the LCD... no you can't do that by just pushing a few buttons on your stock radio.

You need a metra dash kit. Check this link out.

For $180.00 you can do some cool stuff.
