My 07 Mazda5 has a cd player head unit. I want to swap for the factory 6-disc unit (complete system). Are the wiring harnesses compatable? What do I need to know to make the swap? Ebay has a new-in-box 6 disc system (CC99-79-EGX) for $50 US, shipping included. Much cheaper than any aftermarket unit.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

No, it is possible and it is quite easy also.

 

The suppliers list a required faceplate along with the changer. Do I need to upgrade or can I use the single disc plate that came installed by the factory?
