Default 2003 Tribute tail light assembly

Does anyone know how easy/difficult it is to remove and replace the tail light assembly on a 2003 Mazda Tribute? I have a replacement tail light ordered and would like to replace it myself. Thanks.

Super easy to replace golfen. All you need is #2 phillips screwdriver and plastic flat prying tool onlong with about 2 minutes of your time.

Start by removing these two #2 phillips screws.

Now you need to insert a pry tool here between the sheet metal and taillight body. An inexpensive plastic putty knife works well or just wrap the tip of a flat screwdriver with tape so you do not damage the paint where you are prying.

These are the two little nubs that are holding the outer edge of taillamp to vehicle body so you can see what you are trying to pry loose.

Here is a pic of the two plastic grommets that the taillamp nubs press into. Unclip the bulb connectors and you are ready to install the new one.

Yup! I just did my left one yesterday at the gas station right after I've filled 'er up. I must say, the Protege5 I had was a pain in the **** - the bumper had to go off. This big beauty is easy to handle
