So my husbands car started Monday morning, but then he got an alert saying his back door was open...he was frustrating because he realized that it must have been opened since Saturday night. So he turns off the car to open his back door(it doesn't open without the key) and when he tried to start it up again, nothing happened. There was no sound coming from it. We decided to get the battery charged over night at o'Reilly's. I put the battery in this morning and when we started the car, it sounded it was getting a charge but it did not start. Could it be the alternator or starter? We just replaced the starter with a refurbished one about two months ago.

 

Check the fuses and the relays first.

If the refurbished starter is a cheap one (Auto Zone?) I would be suspicious of it.
