Default Newbie--help on tires/rims

Hi,
I have a Titanium grey Mazda 3 '06 car and its getting low on the life of the tires.
I'd figured I would go ahead and get tire/rims if I could afford it. I was thinking of either 16's or 17's depending on cash flow. Would I have to alter anything on the car as I really don't want to..and what tire specs are best for both sizes?
Anyone have any suggestions on wheels/tires I would prefer either alum/chrom look, though some black ones look decent as well. Also any suggestions on tires..any good places that have good package deals?

Hi ruzz. Welcome to the forums.
You've asked some very tough, yet often asked questions w/some long answers and much, MUCH opinion.
Please do a search and you will get most of what you ask for. Mutiple threads have been created on this subject.
The rest, such as color and style are subjective anyway, and most often up to the individual.

I am guessing by the way you worded your post that you have an "i" model sedan... 15" steel wheels?

ya, 15" wheels right now. I know color/style is personal choice just wondering what are some decent brands of tires/wheels that won't break the piggy bank.
