Slight metal on metal sound from right rear only when off brakes
Hello everyone, longtime lurker here never needed to post as was able to glean what I needed from the large repository of knowledge here.
2017 Mazda CX-5 GT 70,000 miles -did new pads and rotors, noise developed a few months after initial replacement, sound is only when off brakes and is constant but not too loud (windows down to hear it, wife hasn’t noticed it). Once I noticed the noise I actually replace the pads and rotors again cleaned and greased guide pins but there is no change. Seems to be plenty of clearance no debris stuck in there haven’t identified what exactly is rubbing. Noise disappears with the slightest amount of brake pressure. It also does not seem to be related to the electronic parking brake because I have fully retracted the electronic parking brake to service mode and there is no change in behavior. From the little I’ve gleaned from Google I guess now I’m thinking maybe bad cylinder. Wondering if anyone else there has experienced and solved something similar? Much appreciated

So embarrassingly I realized after having wife drive car while I listened from sidewalk, it was actually coming from front. Still glad I replaced the rears again because those first Napa pads were too big and did not slide freely until I took an angle grinder to them, prior to that they got stuck and overheated everything in there. Rookie mistake, haven’t done many single cylinder break jobs previously.
Anyway sound was coming from wear indicator on front inside pad which was significantly more worn than outside. A lesson for the future is indicators can make noise when brakes are not applied and then go away when brakes are applied. As well as if you cannot replicate the sound when manually turning the wheel look elsewhere (at least in this case were the sound was constant except when brakes applied).
Hope this can help someone
