Help with ticking sound?

The smaller tube on my blow off valve popped off after I shut off the car without me knowing and when I started the car back up a few minutes later, it was running like **** and it took me a bit to figure out why. When I plugged the tube back in the car stopped sputtering and ran smooth again, but now there is a tick coming from the engine that sounds like a lifter tick.
How can I fix this?
