I’m sorry if I started a new thread without looking for info from older threads. I just joined this forum today. I have a 2008 Mazda3 S Hatch I just bought 2 weeks ago and the front ride height is driving me nuts. The car got new struts before I bought it and they look new....I just don’t think they’re the right ones. The ones on the car are OREDY struts. I had a theory that if I replaced my coil springs, it would at least lower the car to stock ride height. I tested that theory this morning with a set of MOOG coil springs I bought from advance auto and the results were the same. I’m wondering now if it’s just the struts. I’m already looking into just ditching these OREDY struts and getting a set of KYB struts because I’m sick of this ride height. It looks like I have no motor in my car lol.
Replacing the coil springs was not the first best idea .....
Contrary to some bad information on most all forums, coils spring don't wear out.
It is also doubtful that you got the wrong struts for more reason I care to post. They are on ther right and you are not topping or bottoming out right?.
The first thing to do is find the specification for the ride height of your Mazda.
Yes a common mistake many have is looking and not first looking at the factory Service Manual and the information and illustration exactly where the height measurements are suppose to be done.
I would also say to talk to Cork Sport or Racing Beat to name 2 most all know on this forum and mention the observation . They both have had many customers call them regarding the "looks" after simply installing their spring sets that the back is lower then the front.
