What do you wish MAZDA had included with your model
2025 Mazda CX-5 S Select here, purchased new less than two weeks ago. My first Mazda. I’m really liking this car, and the included features at this price level is awesome.
But indulging in some blue sky dreaming:
1. A convenient way in the user interface to turn off all telematics and the modem, not just Connected Services.
2. Hard to believe that such a nicely equipped car in 2025 does not include tire pressure monitoring that shows the pressure for each individual tire.
3. Like all modern vehicles, the outside temperature and the HVAC set temperature is prominently displayed. But no way to see the cabin temperature. HVAC has to know the cabin temperature to function, so why not show it?

My 2016 is still a pretty good old car. It still looks new except for the headlight assemblies. I've got some new ones, just not the time to put them in. The front of the car needs to come off but I'm not griping about that. The GF's Equinox blew a headlight bulb once and the entire front end had to come off to replace a bad bulb. At least Mazda has accessible bulbs.
On the tire monitor, our cars use the ABS wheel sensor to watch for low pressure. The read the exact pressure would require individual monitors inside each wheel. Those require battery replacement from time to time. The ABS doesn't. I just look at my tires when I do a walk around every now and then. I've got one tire that started losing air from corrosion on the rim and it showed that. A little cleaning and sealing and the tire is good.
After all these years, I finally got pulled over in my Soul Red CX-5. I wasn't much over the limit, but enough for a brand new State Trooper with the Gung Ho attitude. Between my elderly eyes, bright oncoming headlights and HER nagging me, I wasn't exactly sure how fast I was going. If I could change one thing on my car, it would be the speedometer. I'd leave the look similar to what it is now but I'd make it digital. There is an unused square section under the pivot of the needle. Make the speedometer digital and display the speed in the open square. This would make it more easy for either English or Metric speeds. Just a simple selection in settings to swap between the two systems. I had a '94 Lincoln Town Car years ago that could do that.

BCM programming can be altered (very different from reprograming or Flashing) but REQUIRES specific knowledge and the equipment to do it safely. Mazda dealership service department are very unlikely to do anything to change the factory setting because of liability concerns.

rap
retained accessory power
all vehicles should have rap so that after the ignition is turned off, some of the vehicle's systems remain powered up, the infotainment system and the windows/sunroof should stay powered so that if the driver forgets to close things up before shutting down, these things can still be closed without having to turn the ignition back on. Plus listening to music while sitting in the car after the ignition is turned off would be nice.
It seems that every other vehicle manufacturer, except mazda, has rap, at least in my experience.

Not really. IF (note the big if) everything is working properly, IF the battery is up to it, IF you don't have a parasitic draw, yeah, it's nice. GM started keeping the power on back in the 90's but it wasn't very common elsewhere. Let's face it, when you park, you usually are getting out. If you're waiting for someone and want to listen to the radio, that's what the ACC setting is for. That has been around since the 1950's and works just fine. My old 1954 Dodge had ACC for the radio when parked. Although the radios back then slurped power fast. Play it too long and the car wouldn't start.

Thanks for the reply but pressing the Start button once after the car has been turned off is not the same thing as RAP. In your scenario, pressing the Start button once leaves the car vulnerable to battery run down if the person forgets what state the car was left in.
With RAP, the car shuts down the systems on its own after a set period of time, 10 mins in the case of my other vehicles. Plus, if one opens a door before the time limit has expired, the system shuts down.
It just makes no sense that Mazda doesn't implement RAP when all others, it seems, do.

My CX-5 is soul red too. It really does look great. The $600 was worth it.
