random thread to talk about whatever
Scott, it's not that I have no wheels though. I'm just looking for something more fun to drive (i.e. something with a 5 speed) than the Malibu or Impala. Which is why I like the Focus ZX3, it's cheap fun.
Again, you might do better selling the Impala outright and pocketing the $$$ as a down payment on a new/used one.
I doubt you'll get very much for it in trade. A 2002, IIRC???? (<<< A BIG question mark.)
My dealer wanted to give me $400 for my Mitsu van when I traded it in. Granted, it had a few problems, not the least was A/C and it was not new, but $400?? I told them no way, so they upped it to $600. I was going to refuse that when my wife spoke up, which I still haven't completely forgiven her for. She gets so impatient and does not bargain very well. I am not the best bargainer either but still, I might've gotten another $200 out of them if she hadn't said anything. They knew they had me when she said "we'll take it!" even after I told her to shhhhh!!
But if I were to sell the Impala outright, then we'd only have two cars in the house. And I don't know if I could wait for the Impala to sell...besides the fact that my mother refuses to sell it privately. Haha. Bit of a conundrum, this.
Ahh...I see. How about a motorcycle?
Didn't realize you were in NYC.....I don't ride them here in Detroit anymore either (got run into oncoming traffic by a cell-phone talker.)
You were looking for cheap fun, thought I'd make the suggestion.
For fun, I like the off-road scene. (I'm a bit of a redneck) You can pick up a good Jeep for only a few grand and have a blast. No speed limits and limited laws overall as far as modification.
