Like Adam (detinger) said, I too prefer liquer... rum is usually my choice, but in choosing the occassional beer I have found that I prefer the (lighter) dark beers.Heineken dark, Beck's, or even Zeigenbock *(Ziggy Bock)*
Used to like Shiner Bock (from Shiner Texas) but it's gotten too harsh tasting for my liking lately.
Back in my partying days, "we" drank a lot of Molson Blue Boats. @ $10/cs it was expensive stuff forthat time.

For American Beers I have to say Yeungling (sp?)
Local Brews - Vermont has a great beer I think called Fire House. Their slogan is "A penny in every bottle" because one cent of every bottle purchased goes to a fire fighter's donation fund.
All time best, but do not know if you can get it in the states due to it's 9-13% alcohol content is La Fin Du Monde from Quebec. It's french for "The End of the World" and boy drink a liter or two of those and you will understand why! [:-]
